QUITTING
ALTOGETHER

GET ADVICE

Quitting cigarettes and nicotine altogether is the best choice a smoker can make.

It is a very personal experience, but you are not alone. There's no one way that works for everyone.

A good way to start is to get as much information as you can, and decide on a plan that's right for you.

Many people who quit do it without professional help, on their own or with the support of family and friends. Others quit with professional help, such as counselling, and some smokers quit by using a cessation aid.

This site is not intended to offer medical or psychological advice. We recommend you talk to your doctor, pharmacist or stop smoking service for professional guidance. Additionally, there are many valuable resources available online to help you find the best support for your country’s relevant stop-smoking service for support in quitting to unsmoke today.

Whatever the method, what matters most is quitting.

Nicotine

QUIT AIDS

Some quit aids have nicotine in them. These products are called nicotine replacement therapy (or NRT). Others do not contain nicotine and come as tablets. Depending on the type of product and country, these cessation aids might be available over the counter at pharmacies or supermarkets or require a prescription.
